An old Yoga breathing exercise:.

Hello, everyone! This time, I want to share a breathing exercise I always include in my meditation classes:. It will only take a minute, and it will leave you feeling better, it is guarantied.

It is called The 4 - 7 - 8 breath, you will soon understand why... :) Try to do it as you read this... and find out for yourself how effective this thing is... :D To begin, sit up straight, take your back off the back rest.

Take a deep breath in, through the nose... Sit tall as you exhale completely, as well through the nose. Repeat two more times.

Now, you inhale for 4 beats,

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 Hold the breath for 7 beats,

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7

Exhale for 8 beats,

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8

Count the beats as seconds. And repeat; Do 2 more rounds...

To end, take a deep breath in and hold for 10 beats, exhale... Inhale deeply ... Exhale completely ... ...

You can set the timer, and get lost within you until the alarm goes on. You can do this for 2 minutes and build up from there... take as much air as you need, it`s free and there's enough for everybody! You won't believe the peace you can gain from practicing this exercise.

You can do it every time you go into a difficult situation, or after. Actually, every time you need it. In fact, I encourage you to take several short breaks through the day, "breathing breaks". I assure you, you will feel assertive, awake, active and present. It brings an improvement in the quality of your life, for sure.

Please, let me know how you feel after practicing this breathing exercise. The more you practice, the more you will fall into the flow, and be able to connect, to meditate. :) Wishing you the best,

all the love, always:. Sara:.
